9 New Members to the Democratic Party's Wall of SHAME
Dan Boren, Jerry Costello, Mark Critz,Joe Donnelly,Daniel Lipinksi,Mike McIntyre, Nick Rahall, Mike Ross, and Heath Shuler.

They all are CO-sponsors of the bill that would change what constitutes rape in this country when it comes to an abortion. If there are some that I forgot to list because mine may be a little old, feel free to add them below.

I'm sure this isnt the first go around for these despicable men (like Heath Shuler), but they need to be called out and shamed for their vile act.

3. How about a little context? A link? A quote?
Accusing someone of "what constitutes rape" is a bit serious. In the absence of any supporting documentation at all, it's irresponsible.

11. How about linking that post so we don't have to search all of DU
to find it?

Posts move around a lot on this site and viewing lists of them are done in many ways here. Your preceding post may not even appear on the page I found this post on.

So many people at DU think we spend our entire lives plastered to the screen with DU flashing in front of us. It can be annoying...

7. There's several current posts on the topic
Republicans want to change the definition of 'rape' so that some women and girls who are raped cannot use public funding for the abortion of the rapists spawn. And not even use funds from a medical savings account.

16. Yes. If they can only perceive of a "forced" rape as a crime, then it stands to reason
that anything like date rape or incest is well within the realm of their behavior since for them, it's not a crime.

I'd lay money on it now that these guys are definitely rapists. Trying to get the definition changed so their behavior isn't exposed and prosecuted. Why else would they sink to that level? Honestly, I'd love an answer. Why would anyone NOT want incest for example, to be categorized as rape?

18. Of course "it stands to reason" that not liking a bill defines the supporters of the bill as rapists
How did I miss this before?

20. They are trying to re-define the meaning of the word "rape".
Why do you think they would want to do that? What possible reason do you see that anyone would want to decriminalize "incest" for example, or re-define it as consensual sex?

31. Oh yes, because going after the Congressmen who are supporting the bill is so... what?
Novel? Mavericky? Paradigm busting? I see you haven't answered ANY of my questions. Why are you defending them? I'd ask you to please stop defending them.

I think we can do two things at once. Go after the bill and expose these assclowns as well, assclowns with a woman-hating agenda. Pursuing Congressional fools occasionally pays off. I'll take both routes for 500 Alex....

33. This is Michelle Malkin territory. Are we really that shrill? That out of touch?
Are we willing to subject ourselves to much deserved ridicule by populating a thread declaring these people to be rapists with absolutely no substance behind the charges?

Is that what DU has become?

Edited on Sun Jan-30-11 02:49 PM by Odin2005
If you don't see a problem with Date Rape then you will eventually commit rape because you think it's just having sex. Kind of like how those that commit spousal rape insist they they are not rapists.

39. So mindsets don't affect behavior?
There was a study of college-age men a whole back saying that "would you force a woman to have sex with you if it had no legal repercussions" 35% said that they would commit rape. Of course the question given did not have "rape" in it because that would lead to an knee-jerk denial, so they worked it as "force a woman to have sex". Since most acquaintance rapists are never charged they will have no problem doing it.

35. If they included a provision in their law that all children born of women
denied abortions should immediately go to the custody of the father for the next 18 years, the bill would go down in a nanosecond. When men are created with uteri, they can get back to us.

42. My unfortunate Rep., Mike Ross, is always on the wrong side...
of the party, of history, and of ME! :grr::mad:

This is one of the 3 "Dem" idiots to vote with the Rethugs for repeal of the Healthcare bill. :eyes:

I quit voting for him 5 years ago, except this past November. I thought I should at least vote a straight Dem ticket, given the stakes. I honestly believe now I was totally wrong! Sombitch is a low-down Rethug... I don't care what letter is behind his name.
