You see Governor Kasich, was just talking about big spending tax increasing democrats and he
was not being a racist when he told a black state senator, “I don’t need your people."

*****************
An Ohio lawmaker is accusing the state’s new governor of saying he doesn’t “need” African-Americans. Mr. Kasich’s spokesperson said the
comment was intended as partisan attack, rather than an attack on race.

The comment in question: “I don’t need your people,” state Sen. Nina Turner said.

Ms. Turner, who is black and a Democrat, said the comment was made in reference to Mr. Kasich’s cabinet choices. The Ohio Democrat said
she was simply trying to persuade Mr. Kasich to build a “racially diverse” cabinet.

Politico reports that Mr. Kasich’s spokesperson confirmed that Mr. Kasich did not make the comment, saying that Mr. Kasich meant ”‘Your people are
Democrats, we don’t need them on our cabinet.’”

Mr. Kasich’s spokesman added, “He said it referring to partisan Democrats who don’t agree with reducing taxes and reducing spending.”

4. After he helped Lehmann Brothers walk w/ 480 million of Ohio employees' $
I don't how anybody could have voted for him. He is gonna kill this state.

Strickland worked night and day to clean up 16 years of republican corruption
and economic policies and he gets the blame for crap he didn't make.

You watch how fast Correction Corp. of America gets the contract to run the
state's prisons ...... Kasich and his buddies are going to loot every last penny
they can.

2. Fellow Ohioan here.
Yeah he may well have meant it that way but that doesn't excuse it. I think any ordinary person might be concerned with how a remark like that would be perceived in a meeting with the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. That it didn't occur to him just shows he cares nothing about race issues. He also has pointed to his wife being a woman and having two daughters as evidence of him being sensitive to gender issues.

I'll have to follow the blog you linked to. Always looking for good sources of local news. Another good one for Ohio is http://plunderbund.com

8. what a bunch of liars
The State Senator asked him to make his cabinet racially diverse not bipartisan. He answered with "I don't need your people". He's a bigot. He's a jerk. He's gonna fleece the state for every last cent.
