7:38pm Ayman Mohyeldin reports that eyewitnesses have said "party thugs" associated with the Egyptian regime's Central Security Services - in plainclothes but bearing government-issued weapons - have been looting in Cairo. Ayman says the reports started off as isolated accounts but are now growing in number

6. There have been several attacks on Coptic Christians in Egypt in recent weeks.

After one such attack, a large crowd of Moslems came out and stood in solidarity with the Christians to protect them. At the time, I read the story as "liberal" Moslems standing up to fundamentalists. Now I'm wondering if the attacks were LIHOP or even MIHOP in an effort to prove that the Mubarak government was the only force preventing a massacre.
