Eyewitnesses say state sponsoring vandalism

In Nasr City, an Eastern Cairo neighborhood, residents attempting to restore security told Al-Masry Al-Youm that looters were caught yesterday.

“They were sent by the government. The government got them out of prison and told them to rob us,” says Nameer Nashaat, a resident working alongside other youths to preserve order in the district. “When we caught them, they said that the Ministry of Interior has sent them.”

In Masr al-Qadeema, another district, scrap metal dealer Khaled Barouma, confirmed the same account. “The government let loose convicts. They let them out of prisons. We all know them in this neighborhood,” he said, adding that the neighborhood’s youth is trying to put the place in order by patrolling its streets with batons.

“The government wants people to believe that this is an uprising of convicts, which is not the case. The government is the one that is a criminal,” Khalil Fathy, a local journalist covering the events closely, said.

Al Jazeera is reporting many new cases of looters trying to spread chaos in Egypt. The people are organizing popular committees to stop government agent provacateurs, thugs and looters and protect their communities. In one area government thugs have cut off water to a working class community! BBI

4. Boy - these people are impressive! Level headed (in the midst of an uprising) -
not loose cannons at all.

I continue to heartfully wish them the very best!

5. Bad move on the part of the Regime...once the people form committees
it's over for that government. People who have not had the experience of governing themselves will be empowered. That's it, it's over for the tyrants.

10. Great point Raven
Add to that neighborhoods being impacted and people who may have supported the protest, but who stayed home, now being attacked through having their water (and likely other essential services) cut off.

And now those neighborhoods are organizing and they just drew a lot more moms and grandmas into this.

Think about it.....

Its an old CIA modus operandi to discredit a revolt
look at the history.

They can even instigate violence ...... and these guys are trained
by the best.

We've seen this shit in protests in the USA.

11. False flag actions.
Blame the protesters for looting, send in the army to "restore order".
