1. The more things change, the more they stay the same.... |
|
I enjoyed that, and spent time with links upon links from there. Change "The John Birch Society" to the teabaggers, and this goes to show the Repugs have always been kooks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG6taS9R1KM&feature=related

2. Funny you should mention the links. I did the same thing. |

Went from song to song, my private little party. I had forgotten all about the John Birch Society song. Remembered that too. There was some great music in the 50's and 60's.
Think I'll go back to Youtube and look around some more. Since I was a teenager during that period, I can sing along with so many of those oldies. With all the bad that is going on right now, hearing this music cheers me up.

3. I'm with you. I have moved to John Prine right now. |

Let me know if you go into another interesting direction. I am having the party with you, I was also a teen at that time and still remember all the words.
Enjoy the party.

moved to Peter Paul and Mary. Makes me nostalgic for the activist times, when I had more energy and idealism.

... and my wife popped in saying that it was the Kingston trio and that she heard that song a lot as a child, it was one of her fathers's favorites!
Great song.

10. Got 6 minutes? This is a classic: Take a close look at the performers. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1oJuwkXr0EI think we ought to start new thread: Music from the 50's 60's 70's that never dies.
