Fox on so you don't have to
they are STILL trying to do analysis.

CNN is confused, MSNBC does well (when Engel is on) these guys are flummoxed.

1. They are secretly praying Paris Hilton flips out so they don't have to do "real news".

3. Nah they are ACTUALLY trying analysis
and they are bringing people from Brookings... last night Gerardo was talking to the NYT reporter at the Pentagon... ok they are doing some distraction like missing kid stories... but they are really flummoxed. I don't think they can make head or tails out of this.

2. They haven't come up with a short excuse like "high food prices" like they did for Tunisia
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x585370

It is really Wikileaks --> Tunisia --> Egypt but they can't say that. People might actually read what Wikileaks released and they can't have that.

4. Nope, though in Tunis the price of bread
had a lot to do with it... as well as Egypt, first food riots were two years ago... and Jordan.

Don't discount food... which is a symptom of globalization.

Of course now they are doing the OIL and how it will affect us... the proper RW spin.

5. Engel and that guy (forget his name, ashamed to say) on CNN are
worth listening to. Other than that, I've become hooked on Al Jazeera's live stream. And updates from nadinbrzezinski, of course. :7

22. Oh com'on if Egypt is in Iraq, the troops are
already in place! Look at it from THEIR perspective... and they don't know geography... (Though from a production point of view that is an easy, albeit inexcusable mistake to make)

10. They won't mention being tortured or beaten to death
for criticizing our Dictator friend though. Or the corruption and the waste of our tax dollars going to prop up dictators. Oops, wait, he's not a dictator!!

An Al Jazeera reporter tried to get the State Dept. rep to address those issues a few days ago, he seemed amazed that the U.S. Rep had NOT mentioned them, but all he got was a robotic repeat of the talking points 'they are frustrated, they want opportunity' etc. etc.

Not allowed to mention the true reasons this is happening. It would expose our hypocrisy. All you hear from the U.S. media is how much of a quandary it is for the president since Mubarak has been such a 'friend and ally' in the ME peace process.

They need to read the Wikileaks cables to find out just what he has been doing in that regard for all the money the U.S. has given him.

Do you get an accounting for where that money goes btw? Or do you just write the check to all of our dictator friends and never ask for an accounting? He's apparently stolen billions, like Ben Ami, from Egypt. I don't like to think any of my tax dollars went to buy him and family their retirement homes and yachts etc.

...right now".

WTF? :banghead:

That's it, I've seen all I can take. Back to Al Jazeera English.

19. Well I got the analysis from a Rethug store owner
at the mall today. Bush knew what he was doing, he introduced democracy over there and now we are seeing the results. He said look what is happening over there, several countries are in revolt and you watch Iran will fall soon. He also congratulated his young employee that was in the Iraq war and said you guys did it. Then he started on Obama that he is another Jimmy Carter and doesn't have a clue. He said there is no way he will ever get re-elected. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything, I have found there is no sense in arguing with them.
