Good Samaritans Face Fine After Rescuing Deer From Icy Water
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) – They fought to save a life, and now they say they’ll fight the fine.

It all revolves around the rescue of a deer trapped in icy water Thursday night.

Alex DeMetrick reports that good deed was rewarded with tickets.

“We had oars and shovels to break the ice, for the deer to get out,” Abusakran said.

But in the excited aftermath of the rescue, a natural resources police officer on the scene wrote both men a ticket.

2. This is the kind of thing that will be picked up by the local news and the outrage
will cause the Police Officer to apologize for the "misunderstanding" and cancel the ticket. Hopefully.

3. A few years ago we had a deer fall through the ice on the river. He was trying to swim to
shore, but there were a bunch of people there, so he started for the other side which was much further away. Because of the morbid curiosity of stupid people the poor fella drowned before he got to the other side. Why are people so stupid?:banghead:

4. Maybe the cop needed one more ticket for his quota?
And in case you're wondering: :sarcasm:

This is unbelievably wrong.

They should certainly beat this ticket.

Good for them, rescuing that deer...

Recommended.

5. I was going to post the same thing.
Without the :sarcasm:. I think the officer is under pressure to reach a certain quota of fine-generated revenue and the month ain't getting any longer.

6. "natural resources police officer" WTF is that? Is that like a game warden?

When I was a naive and innocent kid, I assumed everyone was nice and I used to think park rangers and the like were there to protect animals. Was I ever wrong!
