Well, I finally made it.
30K. Dang, that's a lot of blabbing.
DU has provided me a vent, a land in which I can rant, a forum for my anger and dismay and a source of information the likes of which I have yet to find an equal.
To the Admins, I bow before your vision, insight and knowledge.
To the mods, the unsung heroes of sanity, I say thank you. You have a difficult and under appreciated job.
To my fellow DUers. What can I say? You are a rowdy bunch of passionate Americans. Americans who care so much about this nation that it hurts and pains us when we see our rights and freedoms drained away before our eyes.
I have been a member of DU since 2004. Almost 7 long years. Through good times and bad. Mostly bad. LOL
I have written many words, posted my rants, my insights, my bullshit tinfoil hat theories and yet, like many of you, I still try to define what it is about our nation, our politics, our people that drives us freakin crazy. :)
Thank you DU for allowing me that opportunity. (and not banning me! LOL)
As with every milestone that I hit, I will be "un-ignoring" people from my list. And to that, many of you will think, "who the fuck cares?" LOL Exactly. Who does?
I do, because, frankly, I hate putting people on ignore. But that is for another time to discuss.
However, with heavy heart, I'm also letting you know, with this 30K post, I will be posting a lot less. I will still skim the headlines, but I'm taking a huge step back.
I did this once before and I think it's time I do it again. You will see a snark from me from time to time and maybe an original thread, but my daily comments to various posts will drop dramatically.
Why? Well, I just need a break. In my heart of hearts, I love this site, I love the people involved, and as such, I do not take this decision lightly.
So with a fond adieu', I end with my usual milestone salute of "fuck you all". :)
