It really saddens me to see Al Jazeera's reporting from Egypt
be reduced to talking by phone to Egyptian protesters to get a feel for what is going on and using stock footage from the past days. While their reporting is still better than most, the Egyptian government has indeed done great damage to their coverage.

2. Yes, it's gone. They released the arrested reporters but kept
their cameras and broadcasting equipment. In the meantime, Anderson Cooper reports from Egypt without being molested by the government. Go figure.

5. I hope so, having to watch CNN for live reports after
watching AJ for 3 days is like replacing Walter Cronkite with Britney Spears.

7. No, I can't rec CNN.it's mostly "What does this mean to America"
coverage.I'm sticking with Al Jazeera and online news sources. It's really sad that the best coverage out there has been basically silenced,it would be nice if the American media defended AJ from this obvious censorship, but I won't hold my breath.

3. Not just the Egyptian government but I agree. Rec'd One thing to remember
is that Al Jazeera was financed by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, it's regarded as right wing, politically, in the Arab world but their emphasis on Arab suffering, so thoroughly censored in the West, is unmatched.
