That picture of David Koch at the article link is pretty dated. Here's a much more recent pic of him..

because the Kochs and their friends are way into Michael Milken.

I never heard of them till a few months ago. And I wanted to know more about them too, after a friend told me about an event she worked at catering at their mansion. Milken kept coming up in their conversations.

In a nutshell, they are libertarians, but they have caused division even within the libertarian party. Political/oil/billionaires with tremendous influence and power, and they have been operating quietly for a long time now, on a path of funding their long term political plans. They remind me of Carl Rove in terms of how strategic they are.

7. Koch Family Foundation funds the libertarian thinktank REASON
Edited on Mon Jan-31-11 01:59 PM by firehorse
This quote from the New Yorker article sums them up:

"And Greenpeace issued a report identifying the company as a “kingpin of climate science denial.” The report showed that, from 2005 to 2008, the Kochs vastly outdid ExxonMobil in giving money to organizations fighting legislation related to climate change, underwriting a huge network of foundations, think tanks, and political front groups. Indeed, the brothers have funded opposition campaigns against so many Obama Administration policies—from health-care reform to the economic-stimulus program—that, in political circles, their ideological network is known as the Kochtopus."

4. Industralist billionaires, poisoners of the environment, bankrollers of the Tea Party, etc

Evil dudes, in other words.

Their main industry is Georgia Pacific which markets lumber and paper products, particularly Angel Soft, Northern, and a few other brands of toilet paper.

Koch Bros + Tea Party = One group of asswipes funding another group of asswipes.

Boycott anything with the Georgia Pacific logo:

Koch industries, too:
