two days ago I said the military would be used |
|
Well listening to PJ Crowley on AL Jazera... we are now using military assets... they are also sending more consular officers to help... aka expanding the footprint to deal with the damn logistics.
Remember if you got 200 citizens to evac... two planes at most will do it.
If yuio got 50K it is a little more complex.
Translating Oficial English... we are now spinning up evacuation and the logistics are now spinning up... this is one of the reasons why they have been threading that needle folks... and I am sure the Egyptian Military, which is in charge... really is in charge, will assist us and other nations in getting these potential targets out.

1. I believe they will help too. I honestly don't know if the MFO will evac out now or not... |
|
and come to think of it, there are all the other non-U.S. members of the MFO too...
And if they do evac, what happens to that mission, and will Israel then start freaking out?
I realize we may be called upon to leave anyway...but it just seems like withdrawing now would increase the fear in Israel.

really scared. Being afraid is quite rational, hiding head in sand is not.

6. Of course they do... but things really need to hit the fan |
|
for those plans to go on active mode. That is what the two USN ships are for in the Red Sea I highly suspect.... and in that case not just US Troops either.

8. If Mubarak is squeezed out fairly soon, there may be no need to mass evacuate all Americans. |

Not a bad idea to plan for the Worst Case, however.
This will go badly for us, and we will have thrown away another golden opportunity, if we don't soon push Mubarak into a comfortable retirement.
