Americans are spoiled- explains why so little political action

Lets face it, we Americans are spoiled rotten. We are catered to by the worlds marketplace and we get instant gratification. Can't afford something? Whip out the credit card. We pay ridiculously low prices for gas when compared to other countries such as in Europe. And low prices aren't just limited to gas prices, we get everything cheap because of our powerful market standing. Instead of thinking about lofty goals like equality for people in terms of wealth and freedom and society, we are more concerned about the next new electronic gadget to buy or whatever it happens to be. Consume as much as we can, get instant gratification, and to hell with the consequences like long term damage to the environment or how we use a huge percentage of the worlds resources even though we have a small percentage of the worlds population. Why do we have so much leisure activities and so much attention to them, like sports, music, movies and games? Because we have so much time to kill in our prosperous society. Leisure has become a science as well as an obsession in America.

America - land of the spoiled. Why? Because we deserve it, damn it, we are Americans! We are top dog, and we control the whole world, USA USA USA! <sarcasm>

I'm speaking generally of course and its not true for everyone, but I'd bet the large majority of Americans would fit under my umbrella theory.
