My first day back at work since the end of August... |
|
...and I've already been told that tomorrow is an inclement weather day, so I shouldn't come in tomorrow! Oh, well.
This job doesn't pay anywhere near what I used to make, and it's pretty much data entry with a lot of problem-solving skills - but the good news is that I am no longer unemployed. I may actually get to stay in my apartment, let alone keep the lights on. :applause:

I'm also making less than I used to make. But I can still pay the bills fairly comfortably, and my life is a lot lower-stress.

If I know what's good for me, however, I'm still going to hunt for something that pays more on the side - this is a long-term temp assignment, and I really need something that'll contribute to my eventual retirement.

...and it might give me a little wiggle room to do stuff like serve as election judge, attend the 2012 state convention, that sort of thing.

I'm up in Irving, processing demand letters from third-party clients for an insurance company. It's a long-term temp assignment, and right now we're still in training, but at least we're being paid for it. Except for today, though - we've been snowed out.
I need to get together with you again soon. How's everything? PM me if you like. :hi:

I've misplaced my winter hat, and the wind has whipped my body around something fierce (no small task), but I've just polished off a hot chocolate from Starbucks, I've got some new socks and long underwear, and I'm throwing a log or two in the fireplace tonight while noshing on my bowl of chili, so Jack Frost can suck it.

Enjoy the ice day with sweet Banjo.... I wish we had gotten more snow. :)

23. Banjo says hello to you, too |
|
At least I think it's "hello." She's saying "meh" or "eh", depending on how you translate it, and she's thown a couple of "silent meows" at me today, so I'm assuming all is well - especially since she perched on my shoulder like an overgrown parrot.
