The $hared No Labels Goals of the Corporate Party
From the website:

The No Labels movement was born out of support for these shared goals, and we are committed to helping our nation remain true to these values that we all profess in an environment, which encourages fact-based discussions.

We are not labels – we are people.
We must put our labels aside,
And put the issues and what’s best for the nation first.
A promising future awaits us.

It sounds so right, doesn't it. Yes, I am ready. Yes, we can can our democracy. The shared goals we all agree on? Replacing the old-school goal of a nation serving as a beacon for democratic living and the spread of democracy will be, first and foremost, world economic hegemony and cutting away the social net at home for our corporate benefit (my underlining). I am feeling the power surging through us:

The US must Remain the World’s Premier Economic Power- Most Americans realize that unprecedented levels of debt threaten America’s economic growth. What’s worse, half of that debt belongs to foreign countries like China. We need to restore fiscal solvency. Because a huge share of the budget goes to fund mandatory, “entitlement” programs, fiscal solvency is simply not possible without entitlement reform. We need our representatives to do the math, without worrying about ideology.

(More along the same lines...)

And finally, our shared goals the government, itself, which is hopelessly broken like every other institution requiring a corporate fix. Please note that "for the people" has been eliminated from Lincoln's speech, for purposes determined by the Home Office:

We Need a Government of the People, By the People—None of the problems we list above are new. But our government has failed to come up with common sense solutions because our political process is broken. . . .

I am glad we all agree, and I am hopeful that all of you will vote for mayoral control nationwide as we ramp up the campaign to put Mayor Bloomberg in the Corporate Wing of the White House as CEO of the CEOs.

No Labels =

NEW YORK (AP) — Elected officials and activists from around the country gathered Monday to bemoan the excesses of political partisanship and seek ways to restore civility and practical solutions to government.

The inaugural meeting of a group that calls itself No Labels drew lawmakers from across the country, including Republican-turned-independent New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg; Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Evan Bayh of Indiana and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York; and Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

In an auspicious sign for the fledgling movement, however, the Columbia University gathering also attracted several GOP-aligned officials who were defeated in last month's midterm elections: Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican who lost an independent bid for the Senate; Delaware Rep. Mike Castle, whose Senate bid was derailed in the Republican primary by tea party candidate Christine O'Donnell; and South Carolina Rep. Bob Inglis, who was trounced in the Republican primary by a more conservative challenger.

Bloomberg taking a page from Berlusconi's book --

yeah, fascist governments are a lot more "civil" than democratic ones - they kill the opposition.

2. "Movement"
Why is it that "Democrats" like Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, the Mayor of LA and others go to the No Labels event, which is supposedly designed to erase "partisanship," i.e., the Democratic Party, but progressives within the Democratic Party are mocked for criticizing the tax bill compromise?

3. Or working within the system by using the primary to replace Blanche Lincoln?
In fact we we're told that we were f*cking re*arded for trying by the authoritarian wing of the party. We're told to sit down and STFU no matter whether we work within or outside the system. The pretty words uttered by the President :"Make me do it" ring hollow, because every effort to do so, we've been smacked back and told we're haters, crazy, whiners and from our own President, sanctimonious. We're just dismissively waived away like we're unwashed annoying peasants and taken for granted for our vote, our volunteer time and our money. We're ridiculed if we don't exercise blind obedience for the President's policies. I don't know where we go from here and it's breaking my heart.

7. This only verifies what we all know
that the parties are turning to the right and damn the lower classes.

The lower classes must be made to pay for what the wealthy deserve. Why are the upper classes given what they don't need and the poor, hungry and unemployed get nothing.

The middle class is the excuse for the sell out to the wealthy and the lower classes get the dregs.

Yea America!

Peace,
Tex Shelters
