I was just wondering because of all the trouble they have been kicking up lately and because they are pushing Ron Paul so hard.

3. I also worked with an Administrative Medical Officer during the late 60's
the Nam era, and I have heard that during this time many young Mormon men were exempt from the draft if serving on their required Mormon Missions.

5. I have found many Mormons to be very patriotic and the men are likely
To serve in the military. Not really at all for Mormon women who take on more traditional roles.

My two cents. :-)

6. It's Jehovah's Witnesses that are prohibited from military service.

Mormons have no such prohibition (or even recommendation) that I know of.

7. Seventh Day Adventists
can only serve as unarmed medics. Two-thirds of our medical section in Vietnam were 7DA.

10. What do you mean by radical Mormons?
Serious LDS believers or those farther out on the fringe?

11. They get security clearances easily
They tend to be quit law-abiding and pass muster in greater numbers than the general population. The ones I worked with were decent folk.

Don't let a few noisy members color your judgment of the LDS majority.

12. It ain't a few noisy members who have colored my judgement.
I would describe Normans as polite, but their ideas and positions are dangerous. Consider prop hate as only the latest lunacy that so called nice Mormons supported in droves.

Suspiciously polite. Like pod people.

15. I don't remember serving with any Mormons while I was in.
Although I DO know that they are allowed to serve openly.

Not true for our gay countrymen until just today...
