Have fun! :-)

5. Cool!
It is 111! But my nephew's number is 11. He was born in 06 and turned 5 this year. The 111 must be for us old folks.:)

9. 111 Explanation
Going into math geek mode, so bare with me....

Let the year you were born = 19##.
So the last two digits you were born = ##.
Your age this year will be 2011 - 19##. This is really = 2011 - 1900 - ##.

Add the last two digits you were born to your age:
= (2011 - 19##) + ##
= 2011 - 1900 - ## + ##
= 2011 - 1900
= 111

10. year + age explanation
Take for instance, someone born in 1979 and will turn 32 in 2011

2011 - 1979 = 32

or 1979 + 32 = 2011

In the above calculation, the carry over from adding 79 +32 goes to change the 19 to 20 thus giving 2011

But if the "19" (1900) is taken away

then 79 + 32 = 111 where the 100 part would normally be used for the carry to change 19 to 20.

Q.E.D.

And this applied to all ages prior to 1999 and the age they will turn in 2011.
