Suleiman: Mubarak is our father
Egypt's vice-president has said protesters calling for the departure of Hosni Mubarak, the president, are not "part of the Egyptian culture", saying "we all respect Mubarak as father and leader".

Omar Suleiman made the comments during an interview with state television on Thursday, in which he also said recent violence in Cairo, the capital, could have been the result of a "conspiracy" and suggested "foreign influences" and the Muslim Brotherhood may have fuelled the protest movement.

"We will look into , into the fact it was a conspiracy," he said.

At least 13 people have been killed in clashes in Tahrir (Liberation) Square, central Cairo, as violence continues between pro-government groups and pro-democracy protesters.

5. That's a terrible thing for Suleiman to say about his mother
I know who my father was and he was a man worthy of mother.

7. You're doin' a heckuva job, Sully. You and daddy both.
In fact, you two deserve a long father-son vacation away from things for a while.

9. Real fathers value and protect their children.
They value their need for independence and give them tools to help them grow and self-actualize. In what ways has Mubarak done this?

He is no father, he is a dictator. The very fact that as we speak journalists from all nations including Egypt are being specifically attacked and shut down from sharing the truth of what is happening is evidence enough.

10. The protesters are correct, they cannot turn back. It is too late they
must keep on. When he talks about a conspiracy he is laying the ground work for their destruction. President Obama must step up the pressure on the army to push him out. If he does not we are going to be the partners to the blood bath.
