My 91-year old, WW II Vet, Father will be very proud today
Yesterday, we were talking about how hard it must be for my niece who is an armed forces officer to be a part of DADT. I mentioned, that I thought it would be eliminated on Saturday.

My dad said, "Good. There have always been gay people in the army, and it never made any difference in how hard they worked to complete their mission. I hope it passes today, not tomorrow."

1. My Dad, a career naval aviator, passed away 2 years ago, but if he were here ...
he would tell your Dad, "I agree with you, Sir". I was never prouder of Dad then when my little brother, a USNA grad and decorated naval aviator in his own right, came out. He simply said, "You're my son, and I will always love you." Your Dad sounds like the same kind of man. Since I can no longer hug my Dad, please give yours a hug from me.

He would say, "Don't call me Sir." He ended up his time in the Army Air Corps as a Sergeant.

I think we both know how lucky we are to have Dad's like these two men. My sympathy on your Dad's passing.
