Rachel now with the breaking news: Holbrooke
Edited on Mon Dec-13-10 09:11 PM by nadinbrzezinski
As I expected it, they did not go there with Keith due to recording and all that.

They HAD time to rewrite her show though.

2. Keith never covered it? That's pathetic. Too busy bashing the President.

3. No too busy dialing
the rolodex.

They don't do things half ass.

She had time to rewrite program and get people into the station.

Believe it or not it takes a little to produce a show. This broke what ten minutes from Keith's show?

15. Uninformed and strident. Great combo.
Why didn't they know he was going to die ahead of time? Why wasn't yesterday's show about this too?

17. Well they should have expected it
these tears are usually not very survivable...

That is the devils advocate of the day.

But how they handled it, I liked.

20. The news broke during Hardball. I was surprised they didn't cut in during it to announce the news.
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 12:26 AM by Pirate Smile
I certainly figured Keith would have mentioned it. People watch the news channels to actually get breaking news. CNN's entire 8-9 pm EST hour of programming was ONLY on his death.

An hour and fifteen minutes or so after the news broke, MSNBC bothered to mention it. That.is.pathetic. Keith had an entire stupid segment on the War on Christmas or something. Geez, we wouldn't want to have one live segment on the death of a very important diplomat who is actually a critical part of the Obama Administration's team on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

It's truly lame and is very similar to their weekends of Lockup marathons. They need to act like a full-time news station.

19. No apology necessary.
I'm usually watching the news but I had some online work to do and that had to come first.

8. During commercials on Keith's show,
I switched to Parker/Spitzer on CNN. They were covering Holbrooke's death almost all hour.

16. Well his work with Kosovo is something I still
admire him for that and stopping THAT genocide.

His signing the PNAC... not so much.

If you like public servants, he was one of those who worked all his career in public service.
