Okay, maybe I did not see he impact of this bill...and was a little self centered |

It could follow the integration of the military with black soldiers, sailors..which led to equal rights...
It may be more historical than I know..but..I still want the poor and middle class to be protected..but DU is correct..not on the backs of the GLBT community!

I recollect back in my Navy days, (1969 - 1972), homophobia was rampant. The rule in boot camp was, two men in the head at the same time after taps, both got an immediate Section 8 discharge. In 1971, when my ship was transferred from Pearl Harbor, HI, to Treasure Island, San Francisco Bay, CA, some of the crew was indignant that in SF you could be arrested for "stomping queers". :shrug: I find it gratifying that that attitude is much less rampant today.
