So Elton John is gullible as hell........or a liar.
In the current Rolling Stone he says Rush is not anti-gay. And he did not play at his wedding just to get a million dollars.

I call Bullshit on that story.

If he really believed it then all he had to do was tell Rush, "You make an announcement on your show that you think gay couples should not be treated any different than any man/woman couple and I will play at your wedding!"

Or you could have publicly donated the million, or half of it anyway,h to pro-gay groups.

But he played at Rush's wedding and Rush is still slamming gay marriage.

Elton, just admit it, you wanted a million dollars and didn't care who it came from. I don't mind you making a million, just don't lie to justify it.

6. chuckle chuckle...
EJ has certainly never struck me as "pollyannish" about these things and though he spent time with the late Princess Di, I sort of doubt he got much closer than that to Mother Theresa or any other future saint.

Not knocking Elton personally, but his judgement seems a bit dependent on circumstance.

47. My youngest stepdaughter is that way...
nearly incapable of seeing the bad in people.

And you know what?

She's one of the strongest young women I know.

She has been through some real tough things, but because of her positive attitude, she always comes out winning in some way.

She and her husband met while they were both in San Diego about five years ago. She was done with her schooling...he was done in the USN. They weren't even married then. Instead of going back home to his family in TX, he followed her back here to New England and married her.

Why? Because he said she was the most positive person he has ever known, and must have been born under a lucky star.

So yes...sometimes it's a strength...

There is something important missing in Elton, I'm afraid. His blindness is not , by any stretch, a strength.

I doubt if he needs a million dollars. If he does, he'd better hire a better accounting team.... as 1 mill. should be chicken feed.

The Rush Limbaugh I know is the guy who played " I know I'll never love this way again" as his lead in to his "AIDS UPDATES "in the 80's.

Yeah, yeah, ... funny stuff.

Ignore the label trap in title, that was put there to mess with you. not part of what I believe. Here is the funny part, they do that to scare you, it only has power if you accept it. I don't I am due beer and travel money, and many experiences.

So here is the question does the works of those people and the writings of Shakespeare get to be changed because an intelligent person says some label is on something, or do you think of the heart of many people.

Think about who is trying to use your fear against you and why.

The title name was added after second google search is that all you see? I would not have posted it if playing that game.

And I don't believe in noble blood lines :D

but ask yourself if rush was really anti gay why would he have a gay man at his party and pay him a lot of money ?

it's clear Rush's whole radio thing is to make money among the dumbasses.

it's not just the right, look at how Arianna gained a following on the left and will now make millions .

20. Elton will play anywhere anytime for money since he found out he was broke
the "Dualing Pianos" tour was mostly about Elton and Billie Joel (and I do like them both) digging themselves out of holes. Joel found out he was broke at dinner one night at a NYC restaurant. Flat out broke, no money. His former brother-in-law from his first marriage had Power of Attorney and robbed him ....well broke. Elton just lived lavishly- coke in the 80's and buying every new release every Tuesday at record stores in Atlanta. Penthouse apartment overlooking Atlanta and he paid no attention to his finances.

44. First off it didn't happen - and though it is a start, it is FAR too little
It is also ironic that when evaluating Democrats - if they are not "progressive" on even one issue, there are calls for primaries. Yet, with Rush, who is atrocious on everything and a demagogue, who regularly twists the truth on everything to demonize any Democrat - simply agreeing to marriage equity would make working for him (as EJ did) acceptable?

Elton John AIDS foundation
Since the mid-1980's, Elton John has channeled the grief over the loss of many dear friends to HIV/AIDS into various efforts to help raise money for charitable organizations supporting AIDS research and providing vital services to people with HIV/AIDS. In 1992, frustrated and angered by the growing magnitude of the epidemic and how comparatively little was being done to help those affected by the virus, he decided to bring focus to all of his AIDS-related work by establishing the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) in the United States (EJAF-US, registered in New York). The following year, he also established this foundation in the United Kingdom (EJAF-UK, registered in London).
Today, EJAF is one of the world's leading nonprofit HIV/AIDS organizations supporting innovative HIV prevention programs, efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and direct care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Together, both entities have raised over $150 million to support such programs in 55 countries around the globe since inception. EJAF supports its work through proceeds from concerts, arts-related exhibitions, and special events; cause-related marketing projects and licensed merchandising; and voluntary contributions (large and small) from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

EJAF-US's grant-making supports programs in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. EJAF-UK focuses its grant making on projects in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Without question, EJAF's greatest asset and strength is its Founder and Chairman, Sir Elton John. No mere figurehead, Sir Elton serves as EJAF's chief fund-raiser - conducting benefit concerts, meeting with major donors, foundations and corporations, and participating in numerous public events. Also, as a highly visible and outspoken advocate, he has testified before Congress, spoken at press conferences, writes editorials and delivers speeches at events and awards ceremonies. His status as an entertainment icon and his many years as a dedicated AIDS activist and philanthropist bring tremendous visibility and credibility to EJAF's work.
