I am so proud and happy that DADT was repealed. |

I knew DADT was discriminatory since the moment it was proposed back when I was in HS. It is finally gone. I am proud of the Democrats, Obama, and Lieberman of all people for making it happen. :yourock:

1. I'm absolutely delighted it's finally gone |
|
It's just too bad that soldiers had to suffer from it for 17 years, constantly afraid that their careers would be destroyed by some jealous little phobe.
Unfortunately, it's a bone thrown to us because the GOP knows they can campaign against it in 2012. It might be the last bone. You know they're not going to do any economic good and will likely do great economic harm for the next two years.

3. I was really surprised and happy too |

After all the broken promises and let downs of this administration, this was big and great news. It felt as good as when I heard we were going to have our first African-American president.

I would hold off celebrating until the 60 day implementation occurs... From what I have read there may be some serious insubordination about to happen in the Marines chain of command. But i agree it was nice to see it finally voted on and repealed.

5. I doubt that and if it happens then it will be dealt with how the military deals with |
|
insubordination - and that'll be the end of that.

8. Those that don't like it can quit |
|
Or deal with the consequences. The military is a top down structure and the top plans on ending DADT.

Obama's Civil Unions are repealed, as you are with the repeal of Clinton's DADT.
