It's like the setup to some strange joke! |

A Jewis VP Candidate, a Woman Speaker of the House, an African-American President, a Mormon Democratic Senate Majority Leader, and a Gay Soldier all walk into a bar...
But there is no punchline (well, McCain's crybaby act was entertaining, and it made me chuckle to see him mope, but that's it). It REALLY happened. Far fucking OUT!
America took a step back toward the center today. Not to the left, but to the center, and it's due in large to the efforts of 5 people who, just 20 years ago, no one would have thought could ever exist.
My mind is totally blown...

The demographics do give this victory a poetic flavor.
Voting yes was the right thing to do. Thomas Jefferson would be proud.

2. To me, Jefferson is the personification of the ideals that founded this country |

and yes, he would be proud. If anyone is not proud to be American today, then they just don't understand what "America" is about, and probably never will.
