I've traveled Amtrak in Illinois and there's no wifi. Are you in the NE corridor? That said, every train has power outlets for laptops, which is pretty awesome.

I do really like Amtrak. If they had dedicated tracks and more routes, it would be even better. I am definitely in favor of the high speed rail bill.
