What's that, you worked all of your adult life in the public sector and now the new Republican administration wants to take away your pension because they need to balance the budget/
Tough shit
What's that, you've been out of work for nearly three years as a construction worker because the housing market tanked thanks to dishonest banks and mortgage brokers and now the Congress doesn't want to extend your unemployment benefits/
Tough shit
What's that, you're so broke you've sold everything except the kitchen table to keep a roof over your kids heads, and now they took away your heating supplement?
Tough shit
You barely make a living nowadays, and your kid in community college JUST got put on your expensive health insurance plan at work, and she has a serious physical problem, but the current Congress wants to take that away from you, and maybe threaten the health of your precious daughter.
Tough shit
Jobs are scarce, especially in the blue collar sector, but way too many 'forward' thinking Republican governors have decided they don't want federal money for infrastructure, highway, or railway improvement because it goes against their Conservative principles, even though you just destroyed your front end in a pothole and if you took the train it would be so much less expensive than sitting in traffic.
Tough shit
We are in an era where the very ignorant yet wealthy few call the shots, and for the rest of us, tough shit.
We need to follow in Egypt's footsteps.

1. Yes. The "big heist" has gone on too long. It won't be easy |
|
stopping the powerful, criminal, greedy bastards. They are professional thieves. We are amateur revolutionaries.

those who don't listen or don't understand what's happening can come into the light and see the reality.

5. Agreed. But will we revolt against the correct oppressors? |
|
Dollars to donuts that most of the people in the streets will be railing against the government (who isn't even in charge of themselves anymore) and giving corporations and the wealthy a pass. As usual.
It's a message we're not sending - "The Real Terrorists are in Boardrooms with Suits. And your money."

6. We are a much bigger place than Egypt |
|
Even if millions went to Washington, little to nothing would change. We need to figure out who our enemies are and fight them smarter. What Egypt is doing is heroic and it's actually going to work (I think) but it won't work that way here. That said, we do need our own revolution. It's just going to have to look a lot different from theirs.
One thing that won't be different is there will be a spark from a surprise source at a surprise time and it will just coalesce. I don't know when and I don't know how and I hope when it does, that we do it right. Because we will really only get one chance.
I sometimes wonder if Wikileaks will have something to do with it? Wouldn't that be something, if a tiny company of idealists brought down the American Empire? Don't get me wrong. I love America. I despise Empire. The sooner our world domination ambitions are ended, the better for the world (maybe, probably not us, but eggs get broken).
