3. Oh man, this is hard for me to to do, but I am forced to
respond as devil's advocate here..She may not have shot the bear for its fur or for fun but she should keep and use the fur if she did kill the animal. We have bear hunts in the North Ga Mountains and the bear meat is highly prized by some (personnally I find it to be too gamey and greasy for my taste. However, if she did indeed shoot the bear (or any animal for that matter) then she should save the skin, and use every part of the animal that is possible. Nothing infuriates me more than people who hunt and fail to use as much of their harvest as possible. As you may have guessed I do hunt, mainly deer and occassionally wild boar. I use everything I can. I save leather hides and send them in to a professional leather worker who makes deerskin gloves, slippers, and other items depending on how much I can provide. I often donate the meat to needy families or homeless shelters. Antlers I use for material for making pens and pencils or other crafts that I make in my shop.

Now that said, I don't like the bearskin rug, I could think of better uses for the leather, but to each their own in that.

All of this assumes she killed the bear herself and it was not some gift from some other hunter she knows.

2. She's probably technically telling the truth for once.
Judging from her shooting skills, she didn't kill that bear.
