response to Chase fee letter
I had a final kick in the teeth to a REALLY bad day on Friday. A holiday greeting from the bank announcing changes to my checking account. They stupidly left a half page of blank space on the back so I felt inspired to write them back. Now I need to find an address that won't get automatically tossed in the circular file.

I hope this will be passed on up the food chain. My family has banked with this organization for well over 1/2 CENTURY in its various incarnations. Over the years I personally have paid thousands of dollars to you in various fees, charges, and interest.

Times are very difficult for millions of Americans right now including myself. In the face of this and the bail-outs and the record profits organizations such as Chase are reporting, you actually have the unmitigated audacity to send out this little "screw you, minor customer" right during the holidays?!!

May you NEVER face the situation where a $12 fee has any impact on your life, but I fervently hope that you evolve the compassion to grasp that it actually does harm to many.

Kali

1. Kali are you going to move to a Credit Union?
Edited on Sun Dec-19-10 01:38 PM by MadMaddie
The only way Chase and other companies like them will pay is if you close your accounts. You see if millions close their accounts Chase can't invest your money in bullshit.

Meanwhile they pay their Execs enormous bonuses for finding new ways to screw customers.

7. I have accounts at a credit union too.
Unfortunately they are not a very good one and the only other choice nearby is even worse. I am kind of stuck because of the rural situation, plus the need to be able to conduct banking on line, which neither local credit unions are any good for some of the things I need to be able to do.

I think these kinds of actions are in fact a way to shed us low income, low profit "customers" anyway. I suspect staying with them harms them more than leaving, at this point.;-)

3. check into credit unions
as suggested.

The one I am in is paying 3% on CDs that are renewed upon maturity. Can't beat that these days (sadly) ...

:kick:

4. Would a list with addresses to the board of directors do?
This is the most recent info I turned up quick. You can add that you intend to send a copy to your local paper and perhaps even reach out to a local community radio show in a 'move your money' interview. Last Tuesday on December 7, Wikileaks supporter Anonymous promoted a citizen's run on the big banks day. Interestingly enough, this would turn out to be the day Assange went to jail. The more of us that stand up and say enough often enough and loud enough, the quicker we can wipe that impervious 'you don't have a choice' grin off their smug mugs.

Take care Miss Kali, I hope you have a safe and merry holiday season.

5. So this means you are moving your money out of Chase, yes?
Actions mean more than words.

6. The CEO of JP Morgan Chase is James Dimon,
and corporate headquarters is located at 270 Park Avenue, New York.

Chase Bank HQ is located at Chase Tower, 10 South Dearborn Street, Chicago. Charles W. Scarf is the CEO of Retail Financial Services.

Good luck!

10. Or you can reach him at the White House
He's a friend of President Obama as well as a frequent visitor.

(And Dimon has also been rumored as Geithner's eventual replacement. Aint we lucky...)

13. people who can collect 9 digits a year tend not to take government jobs
unless they're big-time chief executive jobs, such as president, governor, or mayor of a huge city.

i can see dimon being a consultant, virtually in charge, with a lackey officially in that position. but i have a tough time seeing him abandon his private sector riches for a mere cabinet position.

12. No offense but you'll
be lucky if Jamie Dimon's Executive Assistant even sees a protesting email or letter.
