20. Come on out to Oregon and Washington!
I was up on Mt. Hood today, cross-country skiing with my wife and kid. The snow was incredible!

:toast:

BTW, look up Methow Valley. It's a cross-country mecca, and might be a great vacation sometime.

Its a nasty ride for distance on the street, but comes into its own off road. Old school bike for an old guy

15. Let me check the doppler again
Very light rain where I am... but around Escondido it is solid and nasty.

One of those things one learns to do in rescue... read the damn maps.

Iam almost willing to bet there is somewhat of a high south of us, keeping this stream well in it's path.

25. I guess it'll stay soggy here in the high desert.
As long as most of the snow stays on the mountains, I'm fine with it.

19. That looks nasty. We are in Ojai and it's been raining for
nearly three days. I did hear it was going to keep raining for at least three more with stronger winds starting tomorrow. It's not cold, but not windy so far.

Thanks for the map. What does the red represent? Also I see something in the middle of the screen at the very bottom. Is that another storm heading towards this one?

5. It may last longer...
According to the L.A.Times (which gets its forecasts from Weather Central LLC), in SoCal "Rain is likely to be in the picture throught at least the middle to latter part of the week."

Stay warm and dry, everybody!

22. Here in the mountains of San Berdoo it's rained for over 30 solid hours.
We had wind gusts of over 55 mph last night. Both ski resorts here in town, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, will close temporarily tomorrow and hopefully open again Thursday, and Snow Valley Resort has closed for the season.

A shitload of snow is expected Tuesday and Wednesday though! Sucks for me though because my driveway is sloped 18 degrees and curved. (I fucking HATE shoveling snow)

Here's the current radar pic where I am (just above the a in San Bernardino)

27. The San Joaquin Valley has had a variety of results.
Fresno has gotten less than an inch and it's been a slow, drizzly rain which the ponding basins have been able to handle. Visalia, 45 minutes south of us, is getting pummeled. Hwy. 198 was closed due to flooding. This is when it's a good thing to live in an older housing tract when the houses were built on a slight incline. Housing tracts that are flooding is all the newer ones.
