Sen. Kerry is really scorching McConnell.
On c-span2 debating the START treaty. "Have you no shame?" Pointing out all of the lies the Repukes are using to stall. Kerry is on fire!

20. It is clear that Kerry does as well
Last Monday, I joined others from the DU JK group and went to a Kerry fundraiser/celebration of Kerry's 45 years of public service. The event was at Symphony Hall in Boston, and it ended with Kerry's "conducting" the symphony in playing Stars and Stripes. The MA people there got the part of the joke that I missed. It was a very affectionate imitation of Teddy doing just that. It was hilarious as it was, but better after I saw a Youtube of Teddy doing it. One of the MA people commented on how this was not something they ever could have imagined Kerry doing a decade ago.

4. "Have you no shame?"

An understated question if ever there was one.

He's a rethuglican. Of course he has no shame.

It's one of the main requirements to be a gopper.

16. CSPAN has become a really fantastic site
Here is a page that you can always use to get to video and transcript - http://www.c-spanvideo.org/congress?date=2010-12-20

Click on the date, then on Senate or House on the resulting page, then the name of the Senator or Congressman in the timeline on the next page. They have also gone back and are putting older stuff up. (They are also really nice if something is missing - I wanted to link to Kerry's comments on the torture bill, when the issue was raised - and couldn't find his speech. A search here on DU was an easy way to find the time it was made. I found the start of it at the end of the previous Senator, but not the speech. Emailing them and then giving them the approximate time and date led to it being up there pretty quickly. I was amazed that they responded to someone who is a nobody, but they did.)

19. Thank you
I really wasn't fishing for a compliment, but the important point is that they have created an awesome resource that really is easy to use. I wanted to help others know how to access it and wanted to mention that they have created an incredible archive. I really was impressed that they emailed me back for more detailed information and fixed it. (It has to be an incredible job to upload each of those speeches and add in transcripts.)

18. He and Lugar were yesterday - on This Week
I do agree with you, but now it seems more getting enough Senators to act out of patriotism and the good of the country rather than partisan pouting that Obama got DADT passed - and they want him to fail. That sentiment is not admirable on domestic policy, but there at least you could argue that their agenda and ours are at loggerheads, where it is beyond the pale is where it extends to foreign policy. Here, weakening America hurts even on things that rightfully concern them and us. Their arguments against the treaty based on it not dealing with NK and Iran are not only mind numbingly stupid, not passing this treaty hurts our ability to deal with any country and to have the goodwill of Russia in joining us against these countries.

I hope there are enough Senators of goodwill who will pass this - if not it is Kerry I want out the morning shows then speaking of what they have done. Now, he has to balance strongly arguing the merits and debunking their repeated lies with appealing to some of the listening Senators' consciences.

The latter was evident in his comments on Friday, when the republicans were first pouting about the anticipated DADT win.

http://www.c-spanvideo.org/videoLibrary/clip.php?appid=599292512

This link is the opposite in tone to the one in the op, but it is in its own way one of the best pleas I have ever heard to people to take a step back and do the right thing. To me, this side, in conjunction with his exceptional ability to debate, is what makes Kerry incredible on this.

If this fails, it shows the true venality of the Republicans - they know those two amendments do absolutely nothing - this is not an honest effort based on true concerns about the treaty.
