12. What's funny about PTSD?
Edited on Mon Dec-20-10 01:44 PM by Hawkowl
Are you so ignorant of PTSD you accuse others of making fun of it? I know people with PTSD and there IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT IT. NOR IS THIS POLL FUNNY.

The man flys into rages at the drop of a hat. Could it possibly be because he was tortured for years, suffering permanently crippling physical and mental injuries?

21. Again your ignorance is astounding
You apparently know nothing NOTHING about PTSD. There is nothing irrational about PTSD. Angry beyond war time experience? Angry beyond PTSD? THERE IS NO SUCH THING. That is the highest possible level of anger most people could possibly imagine (you obviously can not). What could make you angrier than killing someone or stopping someone from killing you? Or being tortured day in, day out, all day, every day for years? Do you have an answer? Maybe you have a very tight, little emotional range where getting angry to you means a sternly worded letter to the editor?

Make no mistake, I don't like McCain's politics, but I deeply sympathize with his rage issues. There is no cure for PTSD. Very, very old men suffer from it because of traumatic war experiences decades ago. Once your brain has been rewired, you can not unwire it. You simply build coping mechanisms. Some do better than others. Just because some suffer more than others doesn't make them weak or stupid. You, you need to stretch that tiny little thing you carry around in your skull.

35. You do know McCain had serious rage issues long before
he went into the military? He had them as a child. I can't say his rage didn't deepen after his experience but he had the most awful rage attacks where he would hold his breath until he passed out. Yes, this was long before the military.

30. Yep. He has a legacy, alright.
It's just not one to be proud of. And, it's not just all the losing, either. It's his involvement in the Keating Five, suspicion that his "hot dogging" ultimately caused the deadly USS Forrestal fire, callously dumping his first wife for a much younger heiress after she was maimed in a car wreck while he was a POW, his ties with Jack Abramoff, authoring legislation allowing the taking the Dineh Navajo people's land, water, and Coal, to give to greedy corporations, his ties to the Mafia, and countless other scandals we never get to hear about. He wanted something under his belt to make everyone forget about all corruption...

33. There are quite a few senators who should retire because of their age,
if in fact age is an issue with McCain.

Including McCain, there are 26 senators who are 70 or older. There are 17 who are older than McCain, including Inouye, Akaka, Specter, Feinstein. If indeed one of the over 70 crowd needs to retire, they all should.

18. It is his nature.
Sometimes the true McCain ekes through the PR facade. Having lost in his Presidential bid, and after having just been reelected to another term in the Senate, he's probably not going to run for public office again. And so I don't think he's concerned as before about hiding his true self from the public.

Cindy publicly endorsed DADT repeal while John fought against it. Maybe that's a sign she's had about enough.
