Serious Questions

Do you have a problem with Michele Bachmann serving on the House Intelligence Committee? Do you think anything could possibly go wrong? I don't know, but I think slots on the intelligence committees should be reserved for people who are serious legislators, not the political bomb-throwers. I also think it would be nice if the people on the committees, including the chairmen, knew something about the world before they were given access to our secrets and the responsibility for doing oversight. No one thinks Michele Bachmann knows anything about geography or foreign countries or really anything of relevance to our national security or foreign relations. She's also not exactly a discreet person. She's close to the last member of Congress I'd trust to keep a secret or protect a secret from inadvertent disclosure.

The fact that she is quite possibly insane in a true clinical sense is an almost superfluous complaint. Don't you think?

3. I have a problem with that clueless cretin sucking at the public teat--it infuriates me that
somebody that hateful, that ignorant, is in ANY job, much less one where she is a public figure.

12. Blame the voters
She wouldn't be there if it weren't for the other hateful, ignorant, clueless cretins in her district that voted for her!

It seems lately that people elect their mirror image to represent them. So, you want someone to be pissed at, direct to the voters of her district.

5. Great article. They did it to give that nutjob some credibility. Newsflash: It Won't Work!!
Edited on Mon Dec-20-10 09:42 PM by Major Hogwash
They want her to bash Obama on his foreign policy, hence her appointment to this committee.
It won't work.
She's too stupid, and too much of a nutter to be effective in this committee.

It's sort of like giving Sarah Palin a rifle, and telling her to shoot a caribou in front of a tv camera.
Took her 5 shots and 4 excuses from her dad to do it!!
"Something's wrong with this rifle".
Yeah, sure, sure.

Even if it was crouched down behind the bushes at a gay rights rally.

10. Final and Absolute Proof that the Cosmos possesses a Sense of Humor.
Much to our chagrin.

This will backfire badly, btw. She will become the diplomatic corps (and intelligence operations) greater nightmare. Wikileaks is nothing compared to what this woman will do.

Mark my words; they are putting a fool in a powerful position, and she will burn everyone. This is not much more different than giving a sadistic 8 year-old fireworks and a blow-torch.

27. That's what I was going to say
Bachmann on the intelligence committee might just make a few people say, "Hmm, maybe voting for these idiots wasn't the best move"

The best thing that can be done now is make sure everything is explained c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y to her and to remind her that the BEST attribute of an Intelligence Committee member is SILENCE and DISCRETION.

Who am I kidding? This will be a disaster.

Darryl Issa on the oversight committee. He doesn't have the ethics to be providing oversight on others' ethics.

in their trust and stewardship.

We are about as bad for not relentlessly seeking their obliteration and working always to repudiate their insanity.

Loyal opposition indeed.

Our country is becoming more Orwellian all the time ...

A Democratic president scolds the "professional left" and extends tax cuts for the rich ...

War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength ...

Why not Stupidity is Intelligence?
