America has never been about "Taking Away People's Rights" |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-22-11 09:57 AM by FreakinDJ
10s of 1000s of people have worked and fought - some even giving up their life to extend the RIGHTs of a Free Democracy to ALL Americans.
Now Scott Walker wants to take those basic RIGHTs away - WTF is Wrong with America today
For over 200 years we have sought to extend the Basic Human RIGHTs of Democracy to ALL Americans and even the rest of the World. Why should some Dictator Governor be allowed by self proposed degree to take away diminish those RIGHTs
Obama needs to speak up / America needs to speak up
This is NOT Democracy

2. Union workers and their rights have been eroding away for |
|
decades. We used to be 35% of the work force now we're under 12%. This is not a new phenomena ,it's been going on long before the battle in Wisconsin.

3. America has always been about money and cronyism. |
|
Rights came here and there after long and hard battles, and the entrenched money interests do not care about them at all. They will take them away the first chance they get.

4. "America" is about many things. |

And yes, for the regressives, it is about taking away people's rights. For over 200 years, SOME OF US have sought to extend basic human rights, while others of us have tried, and often succeeded in limiting rights. We fought a civil war about this stuff once, and it could happen again.
Scott Walker is a pimple on history. I wouldn't read too much into his actions. His type have been around forever - lackeys for the moneyed interests. It's not Walker we really need to be concerned about. He is not a dictator. He is dispensable and disposable to the people who own him.
This is nothing new, and it IS, in fact, Democracy. He's just going to be on the losing end of this fight, in the long run...
