AOL Co-Founder Steve Case to Join Obama's Panel on Jobs, Competitiveness
AOL Inc. co-founder Steve Case will join President Barack Obama’s new presidential council on jobs and competitiveness, spokesman Jay Carney said.

Paul Otellini, the chief executive officer of Intel Corp., the world’s largest semiconductor maker, was named by Obama last week to the council that’s headed by General Electric Co. CEO Jeffrey Immelt.

The panel, created last month to find ways to encourage hiring and boost U.S. economic competitiveness, holds its first meeting at the White House on Feb. 24.

4. Frak this focus on "competitiveness" and "winning the future"...
Whenever I hear that ego-maniacal/jingoistic line paraded out as if it's something to be proud of/striven towards, I can't help but think of this quote by Robert Anton Wilson (in which sentiments I share):

"We could follow traditional mammalian politics, in which one nation would try to dominate the others, which we now call a zero-sum-game. Or, we could choose a new synergistic path, a non-zero-sum-game, in which all Terrans cooperate to "advantage all without disadvantaging any."
