Did you see Sarah on Greta with all the "happy children" from Haiti? She was really uncomfortable.

Did you see Sarah on Greta with all the "happy children" from Haiti? She was really uncomfortable.

I see no video posted yet. However the scene was a three shot of Greta screen right, Sarah center, (of course), and six to eight Haitian children left. They were bouncing up and down and smiling sort of.

Greta: "How do you find the children here?"

Sarah:"Well they're just happy children with smiles on their faces and joyful and happy. Like children anywhere happy with smiles on their faces. Some of the babies don't have diapers so you see even though they don't have much they're still happy."

She said this, and this is what made my skin crawl, a good two or three feet away from the children. With her arms frozen either by her sides or behind her back. THE ARMS DID NOT MOVE.

Now let me ask you this. When have you ever seen SP speak when she didn't accompany her words with hand gestures?

I got the definite impression that she, not only, did not want to TOUCH the children but also did not want to give any impression that she wanted the children come over and TOUCH her.

It reminded me of GWB wiping his hand on Bill Clinton's shirt after encountering a Haitian crowd. EWWW! don't wanna get the Haitian cooties. She was very uncomfortable around the tiny black poor children who spoke French. I made that last part up I don't know if they spoke French or not.

Plus she was shocked at seeing armed guards everywhere. Being a regular visitor to the Philippines. There are armed guards all over the place. So what? It's a nice peaceful country except for certain parts far away from most people. I got used to automatic weapons fire on Saturday mornings. Its the police and army/navy practicing.

2. Nothing I have seen yet about Sarah Palin is genuine.
She's a complete phony. Everything about her is completely contrived.

3. There's one thing about Sarah Palin that is genuine
And that is the genuine desire to put your money in her checking account. She doesn't care how she gets it--donations to SarahPac, book sales, whatever--she just wants your money and all of it and don't fuck with her.

4. Missed that video, but here's an interesting report on her trip from al Jazeera.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYSKn_iKY4I

The upshot is that there is no purpose for her visit other than self-aggrandizement. When Palin is heard speaking (around the 1:30 point) it is a real shock to suddenly hear that horrible whiny voice after a minute and a half of listening to normal people speak. (She speaks at a "press conference" at which she took no questions.)

An additional irony is how much more honest and straightforward the al Jazeera account is than anything you will find in America's right-wing media.

8. The press had very limited access to her, except for Faux Noise
I guess the only time the real press had 'access' was during this brief 'press conference' where she took no questions. She's dumber than a bag of hammers but she must be even worse than that. Her handlers obviously have a morbid fear of letting her out of the bubble.

9. I'm not sure she even has (or would tolerate) "handlers".
Unlike most potential candidates, she doesn't trust the professionals, preferring a (literally) shoot-from-the-hip style that I guess she thinks helps her connect with a certain kind of person.

Not me, though.

10. It is clear there are Facebook ghostwriters afoot.
And other steps have been taken to manipulate the press to minimize the possibility of an embarrassing blunder. We saw another example of that in the trip to Haiti. I doubt if she's making all those arrangements without any help from anybody.

There is a note of irony here. Remember, when Obama sought to exclude infamously hostile Faux Noise from a presser and all of the other media refused to participate unless they were included? Now we have Sarah excluding everybody except Faux for almost all of her Haiti trip. This is but one example of her allowing access only by media that she perceives to be friendly. Nary a peep of protest about it from anybody in the media.

7. Somehow, despite reading "everything", she missed the fact that there are BLACK people in Haiti.
