Texas Non-Profit Offers Scholarship for White Males Only
Texas Non-Profit Offers Scholarship for White Males Only
Feb. 28 2011

Tonya Somanader points to an interesting scholarship offered by The Former Majority Association for Equality, which offers $500 to disadvantaged students in Texas. The only catch? You have to belong to a very specific demographic:

The application for a $500 scholarship from the Former Majority Association for Equality looks pretty much like all the others out there. Well, except for this eligibility requirement: “Male – No less than 25% Caucasian.”

Yes, the Texas-based nonprofit organization has launched a scholarship for white men. Members of the group, which goes by FMAFE, say they aren’t racist and “have no hidden agenda to promote racial bigotry or segregation,” according to their Web site. Instead, they say their goal is to provide financial aid to white men who might not qualify for other scholarships.

“FMAE’s existence is dedicated around one simple principle, to provide monetary aid for education to white males who need it,” the group’s mission statement reads.

3. How sad if the only thing you have to be proud of is your race.

5. Reflex the traditional American Definition of non-white
The traditional definition of non-white was someone with any non-white blood, even on drop. Louisiana is the only state that actually codified this rule, but when it did defined white as someone with no more then 1/32 non-white blood.

http://books.google.com/books?id=B3Nqe60GkTIC&pg=PA2&lpg=PA2&dq=Louisiana+definition+of+White&source=bl&ots=XixNozwpF_&sig=SJHNZaSIVk0kVModyS0rMmVMFLM&hl=en&ei=voZsTYWiFMWBlAeXvbC9BA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CGsQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

i.e. if one great-great-great-Grandparent was a non-white, that made you the same race as that non-white great-great-great-Grandparent. The fact that your other 31 great-great-great-Grandparents were white could NOT overcome that one drop of non-white blood.

Please note, every other state adopted similar rules, but none ever adopted a cut off i.e. in Louisiana you could depend on this statute to show you were white if the only non-white ancestor you had was a Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandparent instead of a nearer Great-Great-Great-Grandparent, but every other state, NOT covered by a Statute but by judge made law, held to no such Cut-off (This the Randolphs of Virginia were never technically white for Pocahontas is counted as one of their ancestors under such judge made laws). This was a minor problem for the Randolphs for their were among the richest people in Virginia (and Pocahontas had been the Native American Daughter of a "King" of the Native Americans) but I only mention it to show how broad this rule was.
