How fragile is this Internet infrastructure?

Many people have been off DU for long periods of time because of some "glitch" somewhere. Everybody is looking for their own solution to getting back on. We can assume there are many that are still unable to sign on.

What is your most educated guess at what caused this? Do you think it was anything nefarious? Or was it the sites and videos and "live" cameras so many people were accessing?? Any ideas?

As for my personal self, I couldn't get in until I changed DNS settings as was suggested in post # 42(ha!)

Now I get in just fine. I may change my DNS settings back to auto later. Depends on whether or not I have any further trouble.

2. Changes just needed to propagate.

It can sometimes take up to three days for a domain name to propagate across the net.
