Protests hit Iraqi Kurdistan
With all the protests going on in the Middle East and Africa, another hot spot starting to flare up is Iraqi Kurdistan where thousands recently took to the streets to protest government corruption.

Asos Hardi, head of the newspaper Awena says everyone is angry. "From the shopkeeper to the taxi driver to students and intellectuals are all angry.

Scores have been injured is clashes in the streets, and attacks on privately owned TV stations, and opposition political offices are becoming more common as Kurdish leaders want to keep power.

1. The ruling party/family of "kurdistan"
are no different than the baathis they emulate. They may keep the islamists at bay to garner western support, but they are just as corrupt, brutal and shady, especially towards the ethnic and religious minorities in the region, particularly the indigenous Assyrian population.
