1. He's turned into Palin...he doesn't know when to shut the hell up
Keeps trying to out-do himself. It's way past the point of being "amusing."

3. I don't view the tragedy to be Sheen so much as the corporate media obsession with him.
They spent more time covering him on the morning propaganda programs than the ramifications and developments of the showdown in Wisconsin.

It's just more shiny bauble corporate media propaganda working to dumb down the American People.

7. Yes, Joe was particularly obnoxious
(as usual) with his insensitive and offensive comments about Sheen. In general he seemed particularly whiny and petulant today too with nasty remarks about the president and the Wisconsin protesters. Kudos to Mika for standing up to that bully.

26. She's gonna have to do a lot more of it if she wants to live down the
"piece of ass" comment. I hope she does or leaves the show after slapping Joe silly some morning on live TV...

10. I feel badly for his family
they must be suffering so much to have everyone witness this public meltdown. Lawrence O'Donnell, who knows Martin Sheen from the West Wing had the best and most sympathetic reporting on the situation. The saddest thing I think I heard last night was when he quoted Martin Sheen speaking about his son's situation, he said, "It means we just have to love him even more." Heartbreaking.

8. Apparently not enough for you,
Since here you are, complaining about Sheen on DU, thus dragging those of us who have been studiously avoiding all things Sheen into the morass we have have avoided on TV.

14. OMG the same thing happened to ME!!!!
One minute I was doing laundry and the next minute I found myself being dragged by invisible forces to the computer, where a giant hand forced me to click on this topic and read it. I tried mightily to click on the "hide thread" button, but was overwhelmed by a force I couldn't fight.

21. This thread isn't about Sheen, it's about the obsessive corporate media coverage of him, especially
during a time when far more critical and important events are taking hold here in the U.S. and abroad.

This thread is criticism of corporate media behavior, Sheen just happens to be latest example of their dumbing down propaganda at work.

23. Hey, look at this over here! Hey look, hey look, come on look over here!
Instead of real reporters digging up real news, news channels cater to the short attention span - that's what those advertisers want. The continual dumbing down of America - get rid of teachers, hire more cops, spoon out the pablum.
