1. It must have been a regional thing. I was able to use DU normally |
|
all day yesterday, with no problems. I'm in Saint Paul, MN.

9. Yes, it was regional - which is why it was so weird |
|

Usually the net routes around regional problems within a relatively short time span. It was out in the southwest, southeast, europe, and asia: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=439&topic_id=529776&mesg_id=529776and based on the responses below, it's still out in many areas.

Each ISP has to refresh their cache one at a time. Mine is still not working, I just checked. I still have to go thru a proxy.

22. No, you have to go into your computers network connections then |
|
>local area connection properties>internet protocol>properties> click on >use the following dns servers address> and enter 4.2.2.2 into the blank spaces then click ok.
That's for Windows, not sure with a Mac or Linux.

Finally got on using second google dns but I gotta tell ya, ever since they announced another speed increase the service has sucked mightily.
Gonna call them and ask what good is a speed increase if the service doesn't work?!

18. Was down all day here on the northwest coast. |
|
And the only place I could find that mentioned anything about a problem with a link to FR - ick! Had never been there before and for all their rantings about how bad we (DU's) are, didn't see any useful discussions about much of anything.

They were trying to blame this on Anonymous. I finally went to Facebook and searched for DU. Got the freeproxy link there.
