WA & BC: Batten down the hatches... |
|
Strong wind warnings for tonight and tomorrow - seems to be worse closest to the coast and the further north you go. Gusts as high as 85 mph forecast for Vancouver BC. http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?bc42http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/sew/Stay safe! Looks like a left hook coming in from the Pacific:

1. It's been unusually windy in Seattle the past few days -- Sunday and yesterday |

(Sunday being the worst!). It seems to have quited down today, so thanks for the headsup!
It's odd for the wind to last more than a day - or part of a day. It's usually something that blows through pretty quickly.
Several years ago we had some hurricane-force gusts right in Seattle. :scared:
ETA I tend to think of Portland, Seattle and Vancouver as being pretty much the same weather-wise, but that's not necessarily the case, especially as of late. :hi:

2. If that was Dec 2006, it was the same storm that hit Vancouver's Stanley Park |
|
and took out over 1,000 trees. Massive damage. Wind gusts hit 100mph.
Time to go check my candle supply and charge up my IPod. I hit the liquor store this weekend, so I'm OK on Scotch. :hi:

3. The Scotch will keep you warm! Let's hope this doesn't turn out to be as hairy as it sounds. nt |
