Perry to slash 9 billion from the education fund to balance the budget and could cost 100,000 employees their jobs. My daughter's school district will have to cut spending by 19% when they don't have enough now to pay for what they need.
A rally is planned for March 12, thousands of students, teachers and supporters will protest the bill.
I plan on being there, even though I'm not a teacher. Maybe I'm inspired by what's going on in Wisconsin; maybe I'm just completely fed up. I hope everyone else who lives in this state shows up on the steps of the Capitol. It's time we take a stand, support our teachers and public schools and STOP the Republican's national effort to destroy public education.
