Sharron Angle: I Taught Students Creationism, Harry Reid 'Public Enemy Number One'

During a recent trip to New Hampshire to promote a new conservative religious film, Nevada Republican Sharron Angle characterized Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as "public enemy number one," the Concord Monitor reports.

According to the local outlet, Angle described herself as a "fighter and warrior" in speaking out against her former Senate race rival and in discussing her positions on various issues.

Angle made the trip to New Hampshire for the premiere of The Genesis Code, a film that reportedly advocates for teaching creationism in public schools and enacting severe restrictions on abortion.

"Why can't we present both theories to our children and let them choose?" said Angle, according to the Monitor. She reportedly noted that when she was a teacher, she instructed children on both creationism as well as evolution.

8. I think we should teach creationism in schools too

it should be evaluated as any "scientific" theory is evaluated along with evolution. Arguments for creationism can easily be debunked. If done properly this would be an excellent way of showing why we know evolution has occurred. Of course, advocates of creationism do not want any rigorous evaluation of their theories because they can easily be shown to be wrong.

There are thousands of question for which evolution provides very well understood and well documented answers .... creationism can't actually put up any good answers, and its GAPS are huge.

For example ... What from creationism leads to a conclusion of "one god"? Given the diversity of life on the planet, it would make more sense to have many gods. Similarly, what makes a "one god" answer more likely than the possibility that it was a race of advanced aliens who populated the earth?

9. My kids would destroy creationism if they tried to teach it.

Its actually very easy to do.

The entire "teach creationism" effort relies on picking at what it calls GAPS in evolution.

That same approach is devastating when applied to Creationism. Its gaps are HUGE. And so all you have to do is take almost any question that evolution has a well established answer for, and ask how creationism explains the same thing. Creationism explains so little that it fails very quickly.

The other thing to think about, and to use as a stick to smack these dopes with ... is to point out that these same folks who what creationism taught in public school, tend to dislike public teachers.

So they want teachers who they think to a bad job to also teach their kids religion ... and they don't see the disconnect.

she likely would have been fired for doing that. And if she was teaching creationism at a private religious school I am sure she didn't teach evolution as well. So can we assume she is lying?
