Caution on changing DNS settings on laptop if you travel
I had this problem a while back when I first tried Open DNS. If you have changed the settings on the laptop to use the Open DNS servers instead of in your home router and you travel you may not be able to use some public WIFI hot spots that redirect you to a terms and conditions page when you first open a browser. These networks assume you have DNS set to auto configure, which is the default setting. The fix is to change it back but let me tell you it was a bugger to figure out why my laptop would not connect to T-Mobile in an airport the first time I ran into this. Most hotel networks do the same thing. They redirect your first page request to a page where you have to accept the terms of service.
