"A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll from last week shows overwhelming opposition to the collective bargaining provisions of Gov. Walker's proposal.

61 percent of Americans would oppose a Walker-like proposal in their state to take away public employee collective bargaining rights and cut their benefits.

When it comes to budget concessions in their state, a majority of respondents -- 53 percent --oppose reducing pay or benefits for government workers, while 44 percent are in favor."
