Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will hold town hall meetings in Council Bluffs and Glenwood on Thursday as part of their statewide “Jobs for Iowa” tour.

The Glenwood event begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Glenwood State Bank.

The Council Bluffs event begins at 5 p.m. in the Looft Hall Auditorium at Iowa Western Community College.

Branstad and Reynolds will discuss their goal of creating 200,000 new jobs for the state. The plan includes cutting Iowa corporate income tax rates in half, reducing commercial property taxes to 60 percent of taxable valuation, remaking the Department of Economic Development into a public-private partnership, and touring the country and world in search of jobs to be relocated to Iowa.

1. I KNOW that Branstad the asshole is aware that Iowa has one of
the lowest corporate tax rates in the nation, but apparently, his rich buddies need more air-conditioned doghouses and solid gold plumbing fixtures!

I'm sure the jobs will just flow into the state like a tsunami! :sarcasm:

"touring the country and world in search of jobs to be relocated to Iowa" : sounds like a great excuse for all kinds of junkets on the taxpayer dime!

2. He is going to try this the repug way. Let him. This is the state to
keep track of to prove it does not work. One question does that corporate tax cut also go to farmers? Many of them have incorporated.
