I'm tired of these jokers complaining about what the common man earns so I need to ask why do House and Congress members who work for us make far more than us!?

Why does the Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker is paid $137,000, use of a car and a home while demanding other workers make far less sacrife benefits!? The average salary for teachers in Wisconsin is about $48000.

The Governor of Ohio, John Kasich is paid $141,708, has use of a house, and who knows what other benefits while the average Ohio teacher salary is $50,300.

These jokes feel they deserve this kind of money but us lowly worker don't deserve even half of what they make!? FK THEM!

1. Fuck that - eliminate their pay. If they want to be "public servants", the serve, damn it.
Fucking country club asswipes.

2. Hear Hear!

Our legislators should make the average salary for the people in their individual states.

No more.

They think it's easy to live on those wages?..let them "share the pain" and see what it's really like.

But of course, they are Calvinists who believe they "deserve" more money, while the rest of us are condemned by their Gawd and Bobble to suffer....that's why the double standard: Money is evil and dirty if WE need some; Money is sacred and holy when THEY have more than they can ever spend in their lifetimes...

crazy, huh?

And we Americans just accept it....

3. For most of them, this is pocket change. So many of them are
millionaires many times over.

4. You have this completely ass-backwards.
If congressmen are paid low salaries, then ONLY the rich could afford to be congressmen. Even now, the vast majority of these congressmen are probably taking big pay-cuts relative to what they could make in the private sector.

The deck is already stacked against a non-megarich person making it to Congress, this would be the nail in the coffin.

Cutting down on perks is one thing, but slashing salaries would be completely counterproductive.
