Where is the news on Wisconsin?
Again, I'm looking at MSNBC's webpage and nothing.

The Governor is ignoring a court order, there's a recall for 8 senators, they Republican are passing petty laws every day - from preventing Democrats' staff using the copy machine to fining the protesting Democratic senators $100 a day. This is all big national news - and NOTHING.

Looking at Google News - Top Stories and US Top Stories - and NOTHING.

WTF?

The only place I've been able to learn about what's going on in Wisconsin is freaking Twitter.

19. Mostly just what other's post.
The Huffington Post seems to have the most info, at least what I've been getting sent.

24. Has there been any newsworthy anything going on there that the rest of the world would be interested
in knowing?

For example, have any riots broken out?
Has anyone protested loudly in front of the governors mansion yet?
Have the teachers gone on strike?

If none of that has happened, then I can't really blame them a whole lot for not devoting as much air time to that as the coodies breakout at the playboy whorehouse but w'teva.

3. People may object but Channel3000 in Madison
has actually been a pretty good source about what is going on in Madison.

Google Madison News and make your selection...

4. Didn't Walker say the media would get bored of the protests soon...
..or something to that effect (on his call with the pretend David Koch).

They are counting on that. The American public's attention span is...well...not too terribly long.

In the meantime, Ohio is doing pretty much the same thing and that situation gets less media coverage than Wisconsin.

18. Bored - or never showed much in the first place?
When there are a dozen tea party idiots standing around it's BIG news apparently - but 100,000+, for days, not so much.

I'm really feeling angry right now.

We'll see if they can ignore a general strike, which may happen. Ed Schultz is covering it and so is Rachel, thank goodness. But if you don't have cable...

if you want to avoid the spying as much as possible.

an unnamed, corporate Executive was quoted as saying recently.

He also blurted out, "Our news is the news and that news is no news!"

14. And speaking of Twitter - can someone answer a question for me?
I've noticed that if I'm NOT logged in I get a fresher stream of post for a given search term than if I am logged in.

When I log in the feed for a search term shows posts that are hours old at the top and lists everything in random chronological order. If I'm not logged in I get a running stream of 100's of posts on the same term, with the newest at the top - only seconds old.

Anyone know why that would be?

15. Just alert the media that 10 tea baggers are showing up and they'll breathlessly
break into regular programming.

The US media is proving not only it's corporate bias, but it's gasping irrelevance.

17. Well after all, Charlie Sheen and Lynsey Lohan are having problems
right now. We have to have our priorities straight.

But your right, Twitter, left wing radio, Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, et-al is where you get real news. That and Al-Jazeera, RT-TV and really digging through esoteric news sites. If that isn't a clue to people that the whole country is now in the hands of the corporatist, nothing will.

26. the isthmus is a good source
the best sources for info on Wisconsin are www.isthmus.com they have a very nice live blog that has been my primary source of rumors and information (and I'm from Wisconsin). If you go to www.madison.com you might want to ignore the Wisconsin State Journal portion and go straight to the link for the Capital Times.

They are giving good minute-to-minute coverage of the TRO. Not sure if that is still going on, but they were doing a good job. Also, DefendWisconsin.org has good updates and video.
