Email from Move On: We could be on the verge of losing in Wisconsin.
Dear MoveOn member,

We could be on the verge of losing in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin 14—the brave Democratic state senators who left the state to stop the Republican attacks on workers—are under increasing pressure to return to Wisconsin.

Governor Walker is even threatening to lay off thousands of state workers to blackmail Democrats into coming back. And as soon as just one Democratic senator returns, Republicans will be able to jam through their terrible bill.

Unfortunately, over the last 24 hours there have been credible reports from blogs and local news reporters that this is imminent.

These senators have been away from their homes and families for almost two weeks now, at great personal cost. Their bravery has made this whole fight possible, and it can't be easy. That's why we need to show them that they have the support of millions of progressives nationwide—and that as long as they stay strong, we'll stand with them.

Will you add your name to our emergency statement of support? We'll deliver your signatures and comments electronically, throughout the day, to the senators or their staffs, so they can see how much support they have.

Click here to add your name

The statement of support says: "I support the Wisconsin 14 and will stand with them in their brave opposition to Governor Walker's radical attacks on workers."

Thanks for all you do.
–Daniel, Lenore, Peter, Julia, and the rest of the team

2. It is time to take it to the media
We cannot allow them to pretend Wisconsin is not happening

The Wisconsin Protest March to the TV Studios

The media has made it clear, you can protest all month long, we'll just allow Walker to continue lying, and we'll continue reporting those lies as if they were the one and only story in Madison.

The TV stations are the bottleneck, preventing the truth (Walker's no bid power plant sale, etc) from reaching the rest of Wisconsin and the nation.

For instance, a judge ruled that the capitol door must remain open, yet Walker locked out thousands of protesters today while he snuck in supporters thru the tunnel entrance. He did not open the doors, yet this is how Madison TV station WISC ends their story:

Officials said that the policies that department has in place are "in compliance with this order."

This is a blatant lie, yet it is broadcast across the state without shame. Walk like the Egyptians- and SURROUND the TV studios. Put the heat on those fake news readers and every employee working to suppress the truth to America.

The good news- it's only about a 5 mile walk to 4 TV stations from the capitol, with Fox and NBC in the same building, and at the last stop there is a large park where a tent camp could be set up...

Google Map directions : Sorry Google, but I couldn't get the little pins to work on the shared map

14. Well, they are definitely pretending it is not happening.
They did the same when we invaded Iraq on lies.

7. Missing senators to be fined $100/day:

I think we may lose the battle here in Wisconsin, but not the war. At the moment the Republicans hold the power to ram their programs through. Our efforts here may help in other states. No matter what happens here we cannot give up, otherwise it will be all over.

16. Those that have the ability to make a difference please do.
The 14 Dem WI Senators are brave.

IMO the People should shut down the State as a demonstration of power.

To lose now would be catastrophic.

19. Isn't this a waiting game that the Dems must eventually lose?
As a message, breaking the quorum was invaluable but they have to come back at some point, right? I only wish there was time for the current recall efforts to have some bite, maybe make a few of the Repubs think twice about voting for this.
