WI State Rep. Fred Clark moves his desk outside to meet with constituents - pics

MADISON, WI - MARCH 02: Wisconsin State representative Fred Clark (L) meets with constituents at his desk outside the capitol building March 2, 2011 in Madison, Wisconsin. Clark and several other Democrat members of the assembly moved their offices outside the building because of the difficulties the public was having entering the building which has been essentially locked down to prevent protestors from spending the night inside. Demonstrators have occupied the capitol building and marched outside during round-the-clock demonstrations for more than two weeks, protesting Governor Scott Walker's attempt to push through a bill that would restrict collective bargaining for most government workers in the state.

1. These people don't look like "slobs" or "college kids" to me.
They look like average Wisconsinites trying to meet with their elected officials.

18. College kids who are protesting are not just doing it on a lark. My stepdaughter spent a day there
protesting because, if Walker's "budget repair bill" passes, student grants will be gone, tuition will go up up up, and, she told me, there is a possibility that the University of Wisconsin at Madison will leave the state university system and go private, thus raising the tuition even higher. (she's planning on transferring there to finish her degree in microbiology and nano technology). She is putting herself through college and is working as a pharmacy tec to pay all expenses.

I really do not understand the sneeering attitude toward students, teachers, and others that Senator Lunkhead (R) has been displaying.

Walker's repair bill is damaging not only to the public service workers and unions, but to almost every citizen of the State of Wisconsin. The only people it helps are apparently the (mostly out-of-state) billionaire-corporate-Constitution-hating-power-grabbers.

19. And even if they did - they would STILL be citizens of Wisconsin - and human beings
Edited on Thu Mar-03-11 04:36 PM by slay
unreal that Glenn Grothman(R) asshole would call protesters "slobs" on O'Donnell - even saying many were "just homeless people" the other night -- like anyone who isn't a well dressed white man is somehow less than human! wtf. :grr:

He was joined Rep. Nick Milroy (D-South Range), Cory Mason (D-Racine) and the staff of Rep. Josh Zepnick (D-Milwaukee.)
