Talk About Punishing Success |
|
We always hear from the Repub, WIngnut, Teabagger crowd that we "can't increase taxes on the wealthy", because...well that would be "punishing success".
You can't increase taxes on the CEO who gets a $25M tax break to build a big-box store, because...well, that would be "punishing success"
You can't increase taxes on the corporate manager who gets a $50M tax break to build a foreign auto manufacturing plant in a "right to work" state, because...well, that would be "punishing success".
But, a group of average American teachers, policeman, firefighters, janitors, garbage collectors and street sweepers who organize together and are "successful" in winning a seat at the negotiating table? Screw them!
A group of average American middle-class workers who are "successful" in negotiating a decent wage, better/safer work conditions and benefits? Screw them!
A group of average American middle-class workers who join together and are "successful" at negotiating a 40 hour work week, compensation for overtime pay and a couple of week of paid leave (benefits, BTW, that non-organized workers also benefits from)? Screw them!
I've got to ask, and every person should ask their Repug politician or Tea-bagging neighbor...WHY ARE YOU PUNISHING SUCCESS?
I guess success is relative to Repugs, just like "freedom".

but this needs to be a "mantra" for Dems. It's simple and it's factual
Simply ask the next Repub you see; "Why are you punishing success"?
